Severed Ties-2009-09-02

I’ve had a lot of stuff going on in recent months and haven’t had enough time to really work on this comic like I’d like to. But today I came to a realization and felt far more inspired to draw this cartoon than I have in the past several weeks. I guess my allergies getting a little better has something to do with it as well, since I can concentrate a little better now. Anyone that knows me personally can attest to how brutal my allergies have been this season, which really makes it hard to get anything done. Hopefully soon I can sleep without jamming tissue in my nose.

In other news, I got my Brent Seabrook away jersey/sweater back from the shop, so now I’m good to go once hockey season starts up again.

Smoking at the playground. Nice. I had a lot of friends in HS and college who loved to go smoke there, and then play like kids. When I was their look-out, it was almost sad to see them happy like that, at least to me.

Also, how true about grades. Heck, you can get a job in a career field you didn’t even study as long as you have a degree in /something/. I know people whom are accountants with music degrees, and people whom are chemists, whom majored in mathematics, but took one general chemistry course in college–so they were seen as having “some experience”. C’s and D’s get degrees. :P

Looking pretty good so far. The position of his head in the third panel is just right.

  3. bloobyrd18 Says:

Oh man I remember when I smoked at a playground with some friends once. It was a good time i’d say.

  4. Smartie Says:

    Hands you a tissue

Gotta keep up with the sudafed man!

  5. Manic Says:

Allergies suck big time / Summers been ****ing with me this year.

  6. Lycanthromancer Says:

Hope my advice made things a little better (though I’m used to nobody taking me seriously…but it’s their loss, if they don’t).

  7. Lycanthromancer Says:

I don’t see why everyone complains about allergies. They’re REALLY easy to get rid of, as I described a few days ago…

Responce to Lycanthromancer from that site you posted:

Most people don’t follow that advice cause of their ALLCAPS 2nd statement in the user agreement.

  9. Lycanthromancer Says:

I can’t imagine eating fish as potentially being harmful to your health.

    Though I guess if you’re allergic…

Also, the government requires the above statement, on…well…pretty much everything that isn’t a drug.

  10. Foxpaws Says:

I don’t think eating fish is dangerous. Going to a website that has to put an ALLCAPS warning in its user agreement for health advice is dangerous though. People should always consult a MD about their health problems and go with the standard prescription drug that is made to help people. Sure, eating the Salmon might be fun to see if it actually works, but the better choice is to stick with the Doctor’s note.

  11. mattw Says:

Still looking good. Are you on par with your end of the year goal?

  12. Lycanthromancer Says:

    Yup. You’re exactly right, Foxpaws.

Because nothing says ‘healthy’ like toxic pills.

  13. Foxpaws Says:

Hmm, probably not the best place to have a discussion like that, so I will just disagree. But my friends who have allergies say Claritin works miracles, if you would like to try that instead.

  14. SophistiCat Says:

There are just so many things that are right and still so wrong with the scenario. Sometimes I wonder where I’m sitting when it comes to their situation. I still wonder why I hang out with some of the people that I do when they treat me like I’m there but don’t exist. I guess it’s a wondrous dark comedy that we all need to live for a short time in our lives.

I hope you’re feeling better, bro. Hell of a way to start the semester. I have to get well too…before Tuesday. God, this semester crept up.
