As many of you guessed, yes, this was a joke. I wont stop this comic till I reach the end of the story, which will be at the end of their school year (it’s still fall semester). And if I die, I have another person to take over for me. I in turn will finish his comic if he dies. I’ll have my real page up next week, as I spent my time drawing a comic for Heard. Go read it now because it’s magic. But as for being tired, I’m not joking. Good god I’m tired. The original April 1st blog page is below.

As many of you know, I have been rather tired as of late, and I decided that I no longer want to draw this comic. Now I swore that I would finish it and never leave the story untold, so I have hired an artist to get my ideas across. So from now on, this is pretty much how the comic is going to go. The End of Things will now be drawn by Alice Fox of Two Rooks fame.
Now, why aren’t the characters animals anymore? Well, I’m tired of furries. I’m tired of the drama, I’m tired of the BS, and I just don’t feel any reason why I should continue with it if I no longer feel any connection to it or the fandom. Now for all the friends I have made along the way, I still love you all, but this just isn’t for me anymore. I bid you farewell in a sense and may you go on about your lives. It sure was a hell of a thing, I tell you what, and what a ride it’s been. Good god I’m tired — I’m gonna go to bed. By the way, since I previously reserved a room and others are depending on me to be there, I’ll still be at Furry Connection North next month.
On an unrelated note, the Blackhawks lost to the Montreal Canadiens. What a bummer.

Sorry to here that your done with ‘The End of Things’.
I enjoyed watching the storyline come about and watch your art progression. Your facial expressions were fun. What attracted me to your comic was the combination of the two things.
But, if you’re done you really should just close the doors. I also find it kinda sad I never hear anything good about these Furry people. Especial since the sub-cultural sounds interesting. If you have changed, cool, go forward and be happy. Thanks the for ride dude, its been fun.

Sarcasm does not work at all in text. Additionally, April 1st makes everything written impossible to believe. That being said, if you happen to be serious (which I doubt), I assume it’ll be the standard “leaving the fandom, back in a week” that happens all the goddamn time. Although, for future reference, LiveJournal is the accepted place to bitch about how you’re leaving.

I think it’s an April Fool’s joke, though at first I thought ‘damn there’s another comic I like ending…’ but as I checked other comics out I noticed a similar trend about the artists “giving up” their comic and passing it on to another artist. Then I checked the date and smacked my head against a desk for 10 minutes for missing that.

Well played! No I didn’t fall for it, but it was funny.
I wouldn’t be adverse of a swap to an all human cast, but everything else, the attention to details and well scripted layouts would be sorely missed. I’m not anti-furry but definately pro-human in a reality comic, because it’s more real. Furries have other benefits when they become avatars of a personality rather than a solid personality. It has the audience guessing what these people REALLY look like and it also adds humor and some relief from drama.
but, even if it’s an even race, I think I’d go for human. Anyway, I’d always love this comic regardlessly so it really doesn’t matter.

When XKCD and a few other notable prankers didn’t pull an April Fool’s bit, I was a bit worried that there would be no laughs this week. Thank you for proving otherwise… although I do with I read more of the comics in the chain so that I could understand the joke a bit more.
Also, is this page’s content canon? Cause… it’s hard to tell. The pet shop seems the most worrying part if it is.
