Severed Ties-2008-05-13

You may notice that Evan and Cynthia are wearing uniforms in this scene, while Evan and Ted did not in any of the flashbacks. This is because there was simply a dress code that changed from year to year, finally culminating with a uniform in their last year in high school. It was like this at my high school, but the uniforms were enforced the year after I left. HA HA HA HA! Actually, I woulda preferred a uniform, now that I think about it. Oh well, like that matters now.

Iron Man was a good movie by the way. I really had no interest in seeing it, but I went with someone and it was really interesting. Robert Downey Jr. really shines in this role, and it’s cheesey at times in a good way. I recommend it. And god, I can’t believe that was Jeff Bridges. And Gwyneth Paltrow rocked too.

What were the little canvas like boards on the walls anyhow? Silencers or a type of muffler? And it was always stranger of the band teachers “Your not allow in here! I’LL KILL YOU D<” Type of addutude.

Oh and the only reason why he’s eyes are scared stiff is because he’s in a drawing. Forever still till the next space.

    He’s also frozen in fear.

Also isn’t there a old rule where it says “If you wear a earring in your left ear your gay” Hmmmmm…Just a fashion statement!

I had that exact same tie for Prom. I ended up ripping my pants because of the sweet moves I was laying down.

I can’t spell worth shit apparently

The square thingies on the wall are sound/noise blockers, yeah.

Our band director was a bit of prick, but he’d allow people to come in and practice.

as a person who had ro where a uniform through 12 years of schooling allow me to be the first to say.

    UNIFORMS ARE EVIL

I had a uniform from K-8, but in high school we only had a dress code, which is odd for a Catholic School. It was all suits and ties when it was all boys, but then they dropped the uniforms for a few years when it went coed.

Hell yeah for Tenors!!! woot woot!!!

  7. Spike Truent Says:

Our dress code was to wear frilly scarfs and fohawks. The shirt must end 3 inchs above the waist and had to be tight against you.

    There were no exceptions.

If you didn’t come to school like that the teacher had the right to take you behind the sheds and beat you. D:

  8. Spike Truent Says:

Hmmm strange dress code Ethen has.

It looks like that they would form a punk band then and there.

Hey, the comic looks good! And you were worried about drawing all the musical instruments in the background, heh. You did a good job.

And I notice that the last line Evan said was a modified version of a Lawrence Arms lyric from that cd I gave you (except it’s ‘thunder’ in the song instead of ‘future’). That’s really cool!

And Spike, I thought it was if you wear an earring in your Right ear you were gay. You probably knew that though. I’m horrible at detecting sarcasm on the internet.

  10. Spike Truent Says:

Wow JT! Nah. I seriously thought it was the left ear. You may be right about the right ear though. Hey let’s make a new rule, any guy wearing over two earings in there ear is gay.

    Hmmmm ethen…seems to be….

    Crap.

The earring thing apparently varies from region to region. Which, if you ask me, and I don’t mean to be offensive in any way here, is just outright BEGGING for trouble. What happens if you move? The smartest way of handling that would be to get a piercing in each ear and only wear the ring in one at a time. Easy.

Me, I think the ol’ hanky code is a better idea. At least most of it was universal, even if it’s impossible to remember them all …
